Introducing Topics for Groups

Hello.

Starting with iOS 3.72 and Android 3.88, Groups now have a new feature called “Topics.”

Topics give each Group a place to share and discuss a wide range of subjects related to sake and Sakenowa—not just records of sake you have tried.

Start discussions that fit your Group

A Topic does not have to begin with a sake you drank, as a check-in does. You can ask about a sake you are curious about, share information about breweries or events, discuss how to use Sakenowa, and more. Create discussions freely around your Group’s theme.

Others can join a Topic with comments and reactions. If you find a discussion that interests you, feel free to join the conversation.

Moderation for Group owners

In addition to moderation by the Sakenowa team, Group owners can manage the Topics and comments in their Groups. They can pin important Topics, remove posts that do not fit the Group’s theme, and restrict a poster from participating. As before, the Sakenowa team will also take action against posts that violate our Terms of Use or Guidelines.

See Help for detailed moderation instructions.

Available in beta

Until now, Sakenowa has primarily been a place to record and share the sake you have tried. Topics are a major new experiment that expands beyond that.

For this reason, we are first releasing Topics in beta. As we learn how people use them, the way they work, the screens, and the available features may change frequently. We will keep improving Topics based on your feedback.

See Help for instructions. Try starting a Topic in a Group or commenting on a discussion that interests you.
